2-4 Hopetoun Street Camperdown

    Solution

Blending contemporary design with traditional form

Located at 2-4 Hopetoun Street, this stylish multi-attached dwelling development seamlessly blends modern design with the heritage charm of the area. The design bridges the traditional single-storey terraces of Hopetoun Street with the contemporary aesthetic of Roberts Lane, using elements like parapet roofs, timber windows, and metal sheeting to complement the streetscape.

The development features a striking Salisbury Road elevation that preserves the original façade while introducing a sleek new gabled roof and sash windows, creating a dynamic contrast between old and new. Thoughtfully lowered living spaces in Dwellings 1 and 2 reduce visual impact, while private courtyards and Juliet balconies open up the eastern façade to enhance outdoor living.

Preserving a mature tree in the rear yard and strategically placing garages above studios ensures privacy, solar access, and a vibrant community atmosphere. This development offers the perfect balance of modern living and respect for its heritage, enhancing the streetscape and creating a truly unique residence.

              17 Jane Street Balmain

                Solution

                Residential refurbishment and basement

The brief was clear: transform the space beneath the existing house into a spacious subfloor garage, while seamlessly integrating a modern new living area above.

To achieve this, we undertook the challenging task of underpinning the foundation, ensuring a stable base for the garage below. On the upper level, we designed a stylish kitchen, bathroom, and open-plan dining area, all leading out to a sleek, functional balcony that perfectly complements the home's new layout.

The result? A blend of innovative design, practicality, and fresh living spaces that elevate the home’s functionality and aesthetic appeal.

                  Solution

                  Residential refurbishment - dwelling house

The brief was to completely transform a charming, yet dated, four-bedroom Federation home in the leafy suburb of Greenwich. While the house had character, it was dark and disconnected, with separate living areas that lacked flow and unity—particularly a combined family space.

Our vision was to open up the home and create a light-filled, open-plan kitchen, family, and dining area that would serve as the heart of the home.

We designed a seamless connection to the outdoors, with concertina bifold windows that fold back to reveal a view of the pool and easy access to the deck.

Perfect for family gatherings, the new space is not only functional but designed for effortless entertaining, blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors for a relaxed, modern living experience.
